The Mid North Coast Joint Organisation’s Koala Recovery Partnership Highlights Koala Conservation at UN Event in New York

As part of the United Nations World Wildlife Day on 4 March 2020, Cheyne Flanagan Clinical Director Koala Hospital Port Macquarie, and Dr. Rebecca Montague-Drake, project lead of the Mid North Coast Joint Organisation’s Koala Recovery Partnership project, were invited to attend official proceedings on the floor of the United Nations Head Quarters in New York. A Global Opportunity to Promote Koala Conservation

The United Nations’ World Wildlife Day is held on March 3 each year to celebrate and raise awareness of the world’s wild animals and plants. World Wildlife Day has become the most important global annual event dedicated to wildlife, and the day includes the Jackson Wild ‘Wild Ideas’ Think Tank. The 2020 Think Tank theme is ‘Global Warning: Wildlife vs Wildfire’, which will look at the impacts of global change on wildlife habitats, and examine the road ahead with presentations on possible solutions to the crisis. …

Mid North Coast Councils and NSW Government Agencies Collaborate on Future Disaster Preparedness

The Mid North Coast Joint Organisation (MNCJO) recently hosted a forum that brought senior Councillors and staff of various mid north coast Councils, NSW Government agencies, schools and other key agencies together. The purpose of the forum was to discuss the issues and priorities needed to achieve future disaster preparedness in our local communities. Koalas of the Mid North Coast to receive a helping hand

The Mid North Coast Joint Organisation is about to embark on an exciting new venture… The Hastings-Macleay Koala Recovery Partnership. This 3-year venture is a joint collaboration between the Mid North Coast Joint Organisation member Councils (Bellingen Shire Council, Kempsey Shire Council and Port Macquarie-Hastings Council), the (former) NSW Office of Environment and Heritage and the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital.
